Srinagar, September 5: Indian security forces on Wednesday morning foiled the major infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir and killed a Pakistani terrorist.

Notably, a Pakistani terrorist along with others was trying to sneak in the Indian side along the LoC in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. Alert troopers of Indian Army noticed the suspected movement and challenged the terrorist but he opened fire.

In heavy retaliation, Indian Army successfully eliminated him. The body of slain terrorist along with arms and ammunition was recovered from the encounter site. However, others managed to escape to PoK side.

An Army official said, “One intruder was spotted and was challenged. The intruder opened fire on troops closing in and the Army retaliated effectively.” “In the exchange of fire, the intruder was killed and his body handed over to local police,” he added.

This comes a day after Jammu and Kashmir police arrested a wanted terrorist of Hizbul Mujahideen outfit named as Touseef Ahmad Gundna form Kishtawar district. Touseef Ahmad Gundna alias Abu Bakar, was involved in encouraging young men and women to join the outfit and revive terror activity in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district.
