India, Bulgaria together pact MoUs in the field of Investment, Tourism and Civil Nuclear Cooperation

Sofia, September 6: India and Bulgaria on Wednesday signed five MoUs in the field of Investment, Tourism, Civil Nuclear Cooperation, Establishment of Hindi Chair at Sofia University and enhancing scientific cooperation.

 

Notably, President Ram Nath Kovind reached Bulgaria on Wednesday morning after concluding his three-day visit at Cyprus. The five important MoUs were signed following the detailed talks between Indian delegations led by President Kovind and Bulgarian delegations.



During the high-level meeting, President Ram Nath Kovind and his Bulgarian counterpart Rumen Radev held detailed talks on issues of mutual importance to the two countries including defence, IT sector and Make in India programme.


President Kovind, who is on a visit to Bulgaria was earlier given a ceremonial welcome with the guard of honour at the landmark location Alexander Nevsky Square in the Bulgarian capital Sofia. Deputy Prime Minister of Bulgaria Ivo Hristov received him at the airport while President Rumen Radev welcomed President Kovind at the hotel.


Earlier, in the day, President Kovind called upon the Indian diaspora to become a part of India's transformative journey and added that today's India is a land of opportunities for those who want to connect, innovate, trade and invest.


Importantly, President Ram Nath Kovind is on a three-nation visit to Europe. During his three day visit to Cyprus, the two countries signed two very important agreements in the field of Combating Money Laundering and Cooperation in Environment.
