Indian shooter Saurabh Chaudhary hit Bulls-eye at ISSF World Championships 10m Air Pistol event; bags Gold
Changwon, September 6: Young Indian shooter Saurabh Chaudhary has hit the “Bulls-eye” on Thursday in the ISSF World Championships 10m Air Pistol event, which is being held at Changwon, South Korea.
Notably, a 16-years-old Saurabh Chaudhary has not only clinched a Gold medal in 10m Air Pistol event but have also set a new world record at Junior level with a score of 245.5 points. His final shot saw him miss the perfect 10 mark but he ended up breaking the record with little difficulty, ending with a score of 245.5 and bagging the Gold medal.
While the another Indian Arjun Singh Cheema finished third to win bronze at the ISSF World Championships 10m Air Pistol event with 218.0 points. Korea's Lim Hojin won the silver medal.
Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore congratulated both the shooters for their remarkable achievement at the ISSF World Championships in series of tweet. In a tweet, the Sports Minister said, “Saurabh goes for GOLD! #SaurabhChaudhary went all guns blazing in the 10m Air Pistol Men's Junior event in Korea as he bagged a GOLD with a junior world record setting score 245.5! I am incredibly proud of our youth who are taking India places with their talent & hard work.”

The duo of Saurabh Chaudhary and Arjun Singh, paired with Anmol also bagged a silver medal in the team event. Earlier, in the day, Shreya Agarwal and Divyansh Singh bagged Bronze medal in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team Junior Final Event.
Anjum Moudgil started things off on a bright note when she won the Silver medal in Women's 10m Air Rifle. The Indian shooter finished with a score of 284.4 to qualify for the Olympics as well. Moudgil then teamed up with Apurvi Chandela and Mehuli Ghosh to win another Silver in the Team Event. On the other side, Om Prakash Mitharval added a Gold to the two medals, by finishing on top of the charts for Men's 50m Pistol.

Saurabh Chaudhary, son of a farmer based in Kalina Village in Meerut surprised everyone with his maturity to keep calm under the pressure at the recently concluded Asian Games to take India's Gold medal tally up by one more. Chaudhary picked up the sport only three years ago. A student of class XI he learnt the tricks of the trade at Amit Sheoran's academy at Benoli near Baghpat, 53 kilometres from Meerut.
