1.5 lakh health and wellness centres to be set up under Ayushman Bharat

New Delhi, September 7: India to lay carpet for nearly 1.5 lakh health centers which will take Ayushman Bharat Scheme which us one of the biggest healthcare schemes of the world a step ahead. Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said the government is providing affordable health care and universal health cover to the people of the country.


 

Addressing an international conference at AIIMS in New Delhi today, Singh said, several healthcare schemes launched are aimed at providing affordable health care to the people.

He added that the objective of Ayushman Bharat scheme is also in this direction. He said the Centre has taken several steps to take care of elderly people.

MoS for Health Ashwini Kumar Choubey said under Ayushman Bharat, the government has decided to develop 1.5 lakh health and wellness centers in a phased manner. Under these Centres, health facilities for elderly people will also be available.
