और कितना गिरोगे राहुल? NCW slaps notice on Rahul Gandhi for his misogynist comment on Nirmala Sitharaman

New Delhi, January 10: Stooping to a level that showed true colours of the Congress President Rahul Gandhi, the man presented how he respects women and in an attempt to shield his own misconducts addressed misogynist comments on women.

 

Taking a sou moto cognisance of the comments asserted by Congress President Rahul Gandhi, the National Commission of Women on Wednesday issued a notice to Rahul Gandhi for his recent remarks on Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The comments made by the Congress scion comes as a very strong offensive, unethical and exhibits an extreme disrespect towards the dignity and honor of a women. 

NCW chairperson Rekha Sharma termed his comments as misogynistic adding that the Congress scion should clarify on what grounds he made such remarks against Nirmala Sitharaman.

The National Commission of Women issued a notice asking for an explanation by the Congress chief on his offensive and misogynist comment on the Defence Minister of India, Nirmala Sitharaman. The notice by NCW read that the Rahul Gandhi allegedly made remarks against a women minister. It further read as, he said “...the PM ran away and asked a ‘mahila’- a veiled reference to Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman- to defend him.”


 
It happened so while addressing a rally at Jaipur, controversy’s favourite child Rahul Gandhi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi got a woman to defend him in Parliament on Rafale fighter jet deal. “The watchman with a 56-inch chest ran away and told a mahila, Sitharaman ji, defend me. I won’t be able to defend myself, defend me. For two and a half hours, the mahila could not defend him. I had asked a straight question – answer yes or no – but she couldn’t answer.” 
 
Drooping to a degrading level, the Congress scion presented his ugly side which asserts him to have no respect for women. Within hours of remark, chairperson Rekha Sharma in a befitting reply to Rahul Gandhi said that Nirmala Sitharaman is the Defence Minister of India, and they do not expect such statements by the president of a party who gave India its first female Prime Minister. 

The NCW added that they strongly condemn such irresponsible and disparaging views of a person holding a respectful position.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a rally in Agra, also launched an attack over the remarks saying, “Our defence minister shut the opposition leaders in Parliament and exposed all their lies, so they have resorted to insulting her now. This is an insult to the women in the country.”

BJP President Amit Shah took to Twitter to slam Congress scion saying, “Defence Minister @nsitharaman’s outstanding speech in Parliament has silenced the opposition. Unable to counter her on facts, they’re resorting to misogyny. They owe an apology to India’s Nari Shakti.”

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj also slammed Rahul Gandhi saying, “Rahul Gandhi's comments on Defence Minister Nirmala Sitaraman's reply to a debate on a subject relating to Ministry of Defence is a new low in the history of Indian politics.”
