Uttarakhand stands by its farmers; asserts to provide interest-free loans soon

Dehradun, January 10: Uttarakhand has shown a helping hand for its farmers as Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat on Wednesday said farmers in the state will be given interest-free loans soon. CM Rawat said farmers are already getting loans at two per cent interest rate.

 

They will soon be getting loans at zero per cent interest. He said it will help them increase their produce further and strengthen their economy. The farm loan waivers offered by the Congress are just eyewash, the chief minister alleged. “On the contrary we deliver on what we say.

We are taking steps which will lead to real change in the lives of farmers rather than offering them lollipops for political gains,” CM Rawat said.

The Chief Minister also said two doppler radar will soon start functioning in the state to make precise weather warnings.

It will be easier for disaster management authorities and farmers to prepare themselves to deal with natural calamities. One Doppler radar each will become operational on Mussoorie-Chamba road (Surkanda) and Mukteshwar by June this year
