#IndianArmy organised the Army Technology Seminar – 2019 #ARTECH2019 on the theme 'Disruptive Impact of Emerging Technologies' on #LandWarfare with an aim to bring together stakeholders in the #Military, #Academia & #Industry.

Regimental system is at the core of #IndianArmy wherein camaraderie and military ethos are visibly embodied and practised. Our Regiments are a combination of mettle & men which make them Victorious Force.

Army Design Bureau, Indian Army in association with Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), is organising the 4th Army Technology Seminar 2019 (ARTECH 2019) with the theme ‘Disruptive Impact of Emerging Technologies on Land Warfare’ on 11 January 2019 at Delhi Cantt, New Delhi as part of annual events of Army Day Celebrations.

The seminar is attended by the Chief of the Army Staff General Bipin Rawat, DGs of Line Directorates and eminent Industrialists & Academicians.

The previous three seminars have resulted in increased interaction and handholding of defence Industry and Academic Institutions. Nine new Make projects, seven Technology Development Fund projects and eight Army Technology Board projects have been taken up in the year 2018 as a result of increased interaction.

The challenge of determining what constitutes a disruptive technology and could turn into a battle-winning factor is increasing with rapid developments in multiple fields other than Information Technology.

Some of these include advanced materials, additive manufacturing, autonomous systems, directed energy weapons, and human performance enhancement. The exploitation of these and other technologies would depend to a great extent on their effective exploitation which would have to cover the strategic to the tactical spectrum of the conduct of warfare. The seminar will also involve an experiential display of equipment which can be used to achieve disproportionate results.
