On the first day of the convention, Shah addressed the masses in the presence of other BJP ministers saying, “Congress ignored the country for 70 years. BJP will continue to form government under PM Modi's leadership this year. No leader in the world is as popular as PM Modi which is a proud aspect. 2019 election is supremely important not only for the BJP but also for the people at large to continue the developmental projects initiated by PM Modi”

Shah kept on attacking the opposition party saying, “Once upon a time, it was the Congress versus all. But, now, it is the BJP versus everybody else, why? It is because they know that removing PM Modi is impossible. This is an acceptance of Modi's might. Those who are roaming around under the umbrella of maha gath bandhan (grand alliance), what did they do for the last 55 years. Till 2014, 60 crore people did not even have bank accounts. PM Modi gave then bank accounts, gas cylinders, toilets, etc. in only four and a half years.”

Focussing over the surgical strike in the Uri district, Shah said that there were only two countries which were expert at surgical strikes- US and Israel. “We have avenged the Uri attacks with surgical strikes. All of them felt secured during their regime, which is why, they only left the country after the Modi government came to power," he said.

While referring to money laundering accused Mehul Choksi and Nirav Modi, Amit Shah said that the Congress keeps asking questions that why these people ran away.
