January 11, New Delhi: As captioned by Rohit Shetty, ‘the Prime Minister’s squad’ from Bollywood is making rounds on the internet with their selfie. An array of young Bollywood actors, Thursday morning, flew down from Mumbai to Delhi for a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi organised by director-producer Karan Johar and film presenter and producer Mahaveer Jain.

The meeting was to discuss the participation and contribution of these youth icons from the Hindi film industry in nation-building.

All the attendees in the meeting posted a selfie with PM Modi after the meeting. The squad included actors Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Rajkumar Rao, Ayushmann Khurrana, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Varun Dhawan, Siddharth Malhotra. Filmmaker Rohit Shetty, directors-producers Ashwini Iyer, Ekta Kapoor were also present.

PM Narendra Modi also posted the selfie on his social media account captioning it, “Had a good meeting with popular film personalities”.

Filmmaker Karan Johar thanked PM Modi for the meeting by posting the photo on his social media accounts. “The film industry would also like to send a huge thanks for the GST reduction in movie ticket prices that was implemented recently! Thank you so much for your time, Sir!", he added in a post.

The last meeting Bollywood industry had in December 2018 with the Prime Minister had earned the wrath of the public as there were no women as part of the delegation. This time, the mistake seemed to have corrected as the women among the delegation included both film actors and producers.

Meanwhile in their journey back to Mumbai, Vicky Kaushal posted a video packed with ‘Josh’ to cheer up his film “Uri: The Surgical Strike” releasing Friday. In their private jet, Vicky got his actor friends to react to his question when he asked the group, “How’s the josh?” screaming at the top of his lungs just like his character in the film. They also chant ‘Jai Hind’ in the video.
