Armed Forces to celebrate Veterans Day on January 14

New Delhi, January 12: The Armed Forces will celebrate the Veterans Day on Monday. The objective is to honor the veterans of the Army, Navy and Air Force. To mark the occasion, veterans' rallies will be held countrywide at Armed Forces stations.

 

A Defence Ministry release said the main celebration will take place in Delhi. Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will attend the function at Manekshaw Centre, Delhi Cantonment.

Last year, an event was organized all across the nation and military stations. In the national capital the event was held at Harbaksh Stadium, Delhi Cantonment from 9:30 AM onwards. Exclusive counters by Directorate of Indian Army Veterans (DIAV) & Ex Servicemen (ESM) Helpline, ECHS, AWPO, Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB), Directorate General Resettlement (DGR), Comptroller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA), Canteen Services Directorate and Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) was set up to disseminate information on different facets of Ex-Servicemen welfare.
