Attributed as a successful mission, Security forces apprehend senior Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Sarfaraz Ahmed Sheer

Bandipora, January 14: In a successful mission, the security forces in the Bandipora district in Jammu and Kashmir have arrested a senior Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Sarfaraz Ahmed Sheer on Monday. The security force team has recovered arms and ammunitions from the terrorist.

 

Describing it as one of the successful mission, the terrorist was arrested by carrying out by a joint team of Army and J&K Police. A joint team of 13 Rashtriya Rifles, 162 battalion of Territorial Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police, apprehended Sarfaraz Ahmed Sheer. It has been notified that the terrorist was active since 2014 and a 'B' category terrorist.

In a joint operation by Delhi and J&K police, two militants of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, including a juvenile, were nabbed from Shopian. The arrested militant was identified as Kifayatullah Bukhari, a resident of Now Pora Bara, Shopian in Jammu and Kashmir and a juvenile was apprehended. They were nabbed at special blockade setup in Shopian.

The special cell officials were identifying the various modules inspired by the ISIS group and terrorists of Hizbul Mujahideen who are procuring weapons from north India. It was revealed that militant organisations were planning to extend their activities in Delhi and nearby areas. Information was received recently that a militant has arranged a sophisticated weapons and will join HM as an active militant, the DCP said. Later, the information was shared with police in Shopian district. A trap was laid and apprehended two active HM militants, the officer added.
