January 14: After his glorious success with “Simba” and with “Gully Boy” trailer cashing likes on the internet, Ranveer Singh is all set to start his new journey with “83”. It will be a treat for his fans to watch Ranveer Singh portraying the role of legendary cricketer and former Indian captain Kapil Dev in “83”.

It seems that the actor has started preparing for the sports drama as he took on Instagram to share a glimpse of himself practising at the nets for the film. "And the glorious journey begins... #83 #kapildev @83thefilm #balwindersinghsandhu @kabirkhankk”, Ranveer quoted with the photo on Saturday.

Directed by Kabir Khan, “83” will recite the events around India’s first-ever World Cup victory in 1983. Under Kapil Dev’s captainship, Indian cricket team had put the first World-Cup feather in their hat when the Men in Blue defeated West Indies in the final match.

Former Indian Test cricketer Balwinder Singh Sandhu is training Ranveer Singh for the role. “Training begins... #83 #kapildev @ranveersingh @83thefilm #balwindersinghsandhu”, Kabir Khan posted on social Media.

Khan had announced the film a few days back when he posted a photo with the former skipper Kapil Dev on Instagram.

Rumoured to be the "biggest sports film" of the country, the film is expected to be released on April 10, 2020.
