After Runner, time to shine as a Boxer for Farhan akhtar, who reunites with Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra for “Toofan”

January 16: After taking everyone’s breathe away with their previous collaboration “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag” in 2013, the duo Farhan Akhtar and Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra reunite for another sports drama. “Toofan” will be showing a heartfelt life story of a boxer.

Filmmaker Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra announced the film on Wednesday, with a tweet saying, “Embarking on a new journey with @FarOutAkhtar to create #Toofan A heartfelt love story”.

 

Actor-Filmmaker Farhan Akhtar also tweeted, “Thrilled to share that 6 years after Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, @RakeyshOmMehra and I are reuniting to create #Toofan. Hope for your best wishes as we embark on this new journey”, also tagging Filmmaker Ritesh Sidhwani, Excel movies and ROMP Pictures.

 

The film’s story has been scripted by Anjum Rajabali. It is speculated to go on the floors sometime this year.

Farhan Akhtar and Rakyesh Mehra had previously collaborated for a biopic of Indian Running Champion Milkha Singh which won them big hearts from the Indian Cinema. The critically as well as commercially acclaimed film had won many awards including Best Actor awards for Farhan Akhtar’s portrayal of Milkha Singh. Hence, it will definitely be a treat for the fans to watch Farhan Akhtar playing a Boxer in “Toofan”.
