Besides improvised health care facilities, Ayushman Bharat scheme is proficient enough, generating employment slots, says Modi

Ahmedabad, January 17: “Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Ahmedabad is a 78-metre high state of the art super specialty public hospital built by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and is equipped with all modern amenities, including an air ambulance. Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel started his political career from Ahmedabad, and wherever he is now he’ll be very happy to see this city progressing in terms of infrastructure”, said PM Modi while addressing the sea of people following the inauguration of institute in the prime city of Gujarat. 
 

 
According to officials, this will be a completely paperless hospital and is a part of the Ayushman Bharat initiative. PM Modi inspected the facilities at the hospital praising the Corporation for its extended hard work in relation to the project.
 
“The Institute is dedicated to your service at a cost of Rs. 750 crore. This hospital will prove to be a model for other government hospitals in the country. There has been an unprecedented expansion of health facilities as well as medical education in the past four years”, he said in his address.
 
“Poor generally hesitate to enter in the huge hospitals. But under the governmental scheme of Ayushman Bharat, they will be served for free in the hopital. It is within 100 days, that sixty lakhs have been medicated for free. In addition Centre has also approved the support for generic medicine. More than 5000 organisations have been operative for generic medicines in the nationwide providing medicines at 50% discount”, he added.
 
 
Further focussing over the employment opportunities generated meanwhile, the Prime Minister said, “Now, they don’t have to mortgage their homes, for availing treatment at a hospital. The Ayushman Bharat scheme is not just a health cover, it will also create jobs, thus overcoming the unemployment problem. Health facilities and medical education have been given a boost in the last four years, more than 18,000 MBBS seats and more than 13,000 post graduate seats have been increased during this period”
 
“All the classes are to be treated equally and given equal opportunities in the society, is what we aim for creating a New India”, he said. Referring to the earlier inauguration of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, he said that the business tycoons from all over the world have started considering Gujarat to be technologically updated and development centric in relation to business.
