Kumbh Mela turns to be a research centric congregation, says President Ram Nath Kovind

Prayagraj, Jan 17: President Ram Nath Kovind on Thursday offered prayers at the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Governor Ram Naik were also present at the event.

Ganga pooja performed by President Ram Nath Kovind and family. He prayed for the prosperity of the Nation. Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Aditya Nath and other dignitaries were present at the occasion. Ganga pooja performed in Triveni Sangam ambience with chanting mantras. Raksha sutra tied by Panditji to the President.

 

President Kovind visits Sangam in Prayagraj. This is the first visit by a President to the Kumbh Mela since the visit of President Rajendra Prasad in 1953. 

President congratulates these alliance to arrange this summit. He reiterates the biggest congregation of humanity in the world. People from the world do research about management of this biggest congregation which is self- disciplined and self-determined. The organisation of Kumbh is itself a centre of attraction all over the world and it is a magnet of faith, said Kovind.


 

President mentioned about the uncounted migrated birds coming from Syberia. He urged that these birds should get counted. People belong to all religion from various countries are here for this summit which shows that our country believes in equality.

In 1932, Mahatma Gandhi established Harijan Sevak Sangh. Gandhiji worked on theories of untouchability and cleanliness. Kovind urged people to take the pledge for the priorities of Gandhiji, cleanliness.

President was talking on the Gandhian Resurgence Summit, on the occasion of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi's 150 birth anniversary. The summit is being organised by the Parmarath Niketan, the Harijan Sevak Sangh and the Global Interfaith WASH Alliance.


 

He appreciates the people of Prayagraj for the arrangement of such a huge congregation. On his visit to the city, the president is slated to unveil a 30-feet tall statue of Maharishi Bhardwaj, which is said to have been prepared in nearly 30 day

The largest human congregation in the world, the Kumbh Mela had commenced on Tuesday and will end on March 4. Over 130 million pilgrims are expected to participate in the festival and take a holy dip in River Ganges.

According to beliefs, taking a holy dip in River Ganges washes away all sins and paves way for salvation.
