Mumbai, January 19: “The Government has cut down 1400 laws in total for enhancing transparency and simplicity of procedure. Besides ease of doing business, ease of shooting is what I aim to provide to the film industry. Government to work for the development of film industry and make it robust”, claimed PM Modi while inaugurating the new building for National Museum of Indian Cinema in Mumbai on Saturday.

Modi was amazed at the work of the film industry portrayed in the museum, praising the hard work, passion and the pain unseen behind the glamour. “Discussion was going on for the film museum over the past two decades, with its release today, the dream of saving the golden past of our cinema has been completed. Actually movies and society are both reflections of each other. Whatever is seen in the films is the picture of reality and the happenings in the society is the result of movies”, said Modi in his address.

“We have seen so many films on India's poverty and helplessness. I believe that this is a sign of a changing society that now films along with the problems, are capable of giving the solutions out. Clearly, this change is seen in films with the society today.”, he praised. Government is on its way to start a new window clearance system for approval of film production in different parts of the country, he assured.

Veteran actors and directors including Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Rohit Shetty, Jitendra, Poonam Dhillon, Asha Bhosale, A R Rehman of the film industry were present on the occasion. “I aim to set an International Summit of the films, like that in the Davos. Behind the glamour of the films and the celebrities, there is a lot of hard work, pain and affection”, he said. When politicians are given extended name for their limited contribution, the actors are institutions in themselves. These should come up with their stories, may be on the social media. “People see the glamour, but they are unaware of the pain you face. Social media is the best reach now and can work efficient enough to encourage the youth to work hard, through your stories”, he added.
