Srinagar, January 21: In a fierce gunfight, the security forces have killed two terrorists in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district. The operation is being carried out by a team comprising Rashtriya Rifles, Budgam police and CRPF officials. The area has been placed under cordon.

 

Security forces launched a cordon and search operation following information about presence of terrorists in the area. The search operation turned into a gunbattle after terrorists opened fire on security forces.

It was reported that around two-three terrorists had been holed up in Charari Sharief area. The security forces were conducting a regular combing operation when the terrorists started firing. There have also been reports of stone pelting by locals. Over 160 militants have been killed in Kashmir since January. A total of 250 were killed last year.

Sparing no one who bad eyes India, the year 2018 has undoubtedly been one of the successful years for the Indian Army. Eliminating several top ultras that were targeting security forces and civilians, the Indian Army has achieved considerable success in anti-militancy operations in Jammu and Kashmir.

In the recent retaliation to ceasefire violation, the Army gave a befitting reply to Pakistani aggression along the Line of Control (LoC) in the state. The army foiled their designs and the operation was successful. The army troops successfully eliminated a number of militants, who were targeting security forces and civilians.
