#PBD2019-Day 2: India is unique but, Indianness is Universal

Varanasi, Jan 22: The most awaited and energetic PBD convention of 2019 started with the contribution of young members of the Indian diaspora in ‘Youth PBD’ on Monday. Today on the second day, the palpitating atmosphere remained the same in Inauguration of 15th PBD.

Today, the whole event was designed for taking engagement with diaspora on another level. General V.K.Singh, Vijay Gokhale, FS, and other delegates are presented for this event. The chief guest of the event is PM of Mauritius, Pravind Jugunath.

 

At the beginning of the event, Dnyaneshwar Muley, Secretary of CPV stated that this year government is organizing the biggest PBD so far.

In the scintillating atmosphere, the event started with the arrival of all the dignitaries and guests.

For the celebration of our connectedness and oneness, the song of praise of Pravasi was performed by artists of Akashwani (AIR) with the rendering theme of PBD.

External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj welcomed all for this event. She bowed in memories of Atal Bihari Vajpayee for this noble idea of connecting the bonds between Indian and NRIs.


 

She said, “I appreciate Modiji for renovating the whole concept of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas. He established the new landmarks in the celebration of Indianness.”

Further, she added, Yogi Aditya Nath, CM of UP and Ram Naik, governor of UP are working as a unit, that why it became possible to take this event on this level. And due to this partnership, UP is developing rapidly.

Swaraj specially thanked ‘Kashiwasi’ (citizens of Kashi) for their humble hospitality. She said, “due to their hospitality, the whole event becomes “Kashimay.”

Addressing to chief Guest, she added, We recognize Mauritius as a “Little India” due to shared cultural and traditional norms. The traditions and culture connect India and Mauritius as brothers.

After the welcome address, UP CM Yogi Adityanath addressed the event. He welcomed all and shared enthusiasm with all.

Chief Guest, PM of Mauritius, Pravind Jugunath started his speech in Hindi, the gesture was appreciated by a mob and PM Modi.

While addressing the Pravasi Bharatiya, Jugunath said, “ This is a moment of deep privilege, not only for me but for all of us, from around the world, we gathered here under one roof as one family. This ceremony gave diaspora around the world, a chance to meet and share.” He added this event is undoubtedly a prestigious gathering.

He said, “we all gathered here in Varanasi for not only to share threats of history, culture, identities, and roots but also common understanding and perspective.”

He expressed, India is unique, but Indianness is universal.

He declared that Mauritius is organizing “International Bhagwat Geeta Mohatsav” in next month. This is a joint initiative of Haryana government and government of Mauritius. The purpose of this event is to strengthen the cultural ties with all countries.

He also announced that Mauritius is organizing “Bhojpuri Mohatsav” in next year for promotion of Bhojpuri language and culture.

In the last, he expressed his feelings, he said, “when we travel to India, especially places like Varanasi, the vibrations in our heart and mind tell us, India has never left us.”

After the address of Chief guest, the Award ceremony for the quiz “Bharat ko janeyee” took place.
