Pink Tamil remake: Kannada star Shraddha Srinath to reprise Taapsee Pannu’s character

Chennai, Jan 28: Young Kannada actress Shraddha Srinath is the new addition to Ajith Kumar’s much anticipated Tamil remake of Pink. Informing about the prestigious project, the Kannada beauty took to Twitter and officially confirmed the development. The gorgeous actress will reprise Taapsee Pannu’s character in the Tamil version.
 
“It's official. I'm so glad to be doing this film with Ajith sir and to be playing a part that I can confidently say will be the most challenging role I have ever played. Uff. Nervous excitement.” wrote Shraddha.

Pink remake will be Boney Kapoor’s first Tamil project. To be helmed by H. Vinoth, veteran actor Ajith Kumar will be essaying the role of Amitabh Bachchan. The original Hindi version was directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury. Veteran cinematography Nirav Shah and composer Yuvan Shankar Raja will be the part of the highly anticipated star-packed remake.

According to media reports, award-winning actress Vidya Balan will play a key role which will mark her Tamil debut where she will share the screen space with Ajith. Vidya Balan was last seen in NTR Kathanayakadu, the first part of NTR biopic series where she played the role of Basawatarakam, wife of NTR.

Dubbed as 'Thala 59', the flick was officially launched in December last year and maker are planning for May release. During Sridevi’s 'English Vinglish', Ajith promised the late actress that he would team up with Boney Kapoor under his home production.

Shraddha Srinath, a prominent Kannada actress shot to fame with her excellent performance in Pawan Kumar’s thriller U-Turn. Last year, Actress Samantha Akkineni featured in the Tamil and Telugu remake of U-Turn. Currently, Shraddha is busy with her Telugu assignment Jersey, a sports drama starring actor Nani.
