Pragya Prawah National Convener J Nandkumar addressing the gathering

Bhopal, Jan 4: Comparing the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) with the uninterrupted flow of the Ganges, J Nandkumar, National Convener of ‘Pragya Parwah’ said that this is the original form of Bharat. He said that RSS can be well understood by looking at its swayamsevaks.

He was speaking after releasing the six-volume ‘Kritirup Sanghdarshan’ (RSS Vision in Action) at a function held at Manas Bhavan here on Thursday. He credited the traditions and culture of Bharat that kept this nation alive surviving so many upheavals in the history while many other countries, cultures and traditions flourished and vanished from the globe, Bharat still remained intact.

He said that this six-volume treatise will introduce the RSS to the readers in its true perspective. It is necessary to bring the issues mentioned in these volumes into the public domain for discussion. He said that the original mission of the RSS is man making and character building. Such workers fan out to various sectors of the social life and serve the society in various ways.

The RSS activists participated in the freedom struggle, J Nandkumar said referring to Bharat Ratna Bhagwan Dass whose famous quote explained the participation of RSS workers in freedom struggle and post-independence security of senior Congress leaders like Pt Nehru. He also explained how the RSS workers thwarted the attempt of the enemy to sabotage the Congress leaders.

Nandkumar said that the RSS workers also provided the security to Mahatma Gandhi in Valmiki Colony and Gandhi had praised them, he added. He said that the RSS was inspired by values of service and dedication and with that inspiration it would flourish.

Commenting on Sabarimala controversy he alleged that systematic efforts are being made to destroy the age-old tradition of Sabarimala. He said that we have temples with independent traditions and their sanctity should be maintained.

Dr Prakash Pandey, Principal of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan who chaired the program said that we need to know our own self. We need to understand the fundamental idea of Bharat and cultural nationalism. New Year is not celebrated in Arab countries but here caught in the cobweb of secularism, we are destroying our own traditions, he said.

RSS Prant Sanghchalak Satish Pimplikar and Vibhag Sah-Sanghchalak Dr Rajesh Sethi shared the dais on this occasion.

Meanwhile, the venue of the program was changed at the eleventh hour as the administration cancelled the earlier granted permission for the Apex Bank auditorium.

According to sources, the organisers had deposited the fees of Rs 35,200/- one month ahead of the program for booking the auditorium. But with the change in the government, the apex bank officers faced pressure from the government to cancel the permission, sources alleged. This on time cancellation forced the organisers to shift the venue to Manas Bhavan, the sources said.
