New Zealand, February 1: Marking today’s 3rd ODI against New Zealand a significant match for India as well as women’s cricket, Indian Captain Mithali Raj became the first female cricketer to play 200 ODIs, adding another achievement to her illustrious career.

 

Making her debut in international cricket way back in 1999, Mithali has now featured in 200 games out of the 263 ODIs India have played. Along with this, she has also played 10 Tests and 85 T20s.

In her glorious career, the 36-year-old has also made her name being the highest run-getter in ODIs with 6622 runs at an average of 51.33, including seven hundreds.

Even though she got bowled out at 9 in 28 balls, the team made sure to make the game special for her. She had hit an unbeaten 63 in the second ODI, helping India take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.

 

Meanwhile, team India was playing their third and final ODI against New Zealand at Hamilton. After two losses in the series, the New Zealand women grabbed a prominent win by 8 wickets in the third match with their captain Amy Satterthwaite making ease at winning with her 66 runs.
