Special Investigation Team should probe reported audio clips: Karnataka Assembly Speaker

 Bengaluru, Feb 11: Days after the sensational audio clips released by Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, Karnataka Assembly Speaker K.R. Ramesh Kumar today asked Chief Minister Kumaraswamy to constitute a special probe in order to check the authenticity of the audio clips.

Expressing deep concern over the alleged conversation involving senior political leaders, Ramesh suggested that state monitored Special Investigation Team should investigate the highly sensitive matter and submit the report within 15 days. According to media reports, the name of incumbent Speaker K.R. Ramesh Kumar has been surfaced in the unverified audio clips released by the Karnataka Chief Minister.

Earlier, Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy had released two audio clips and accused former Chief Minister and state BJP Chief BS Yeddyurappa of luring JD(S) lawmakers and their family members in order to destabilize the JD(S)- Congress coalition government.

Meanwhile, denying all the charges of horse trading, senior BJP leader and former Chief Minister Yeddyurappa questioned the authenticity of the audio clips presented by Kumaraswamy. Dubbing audio clip event as the politically motivated move of Kumaraswamy government, the state BJP chief said that he was ready for any kind of probe.
