Kerala’s breakthrough in manufacturing; Soon to launch its own laptop brand “Coconics”

Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 12: Kerala is one of the most advanced and growing states in the country. With its own natural beauty and skilled professionals, Kerala is making her spot not only in the country but also in the world. Kerala is all ready to have its own indigenously developed laptop named “Coconics” in near future.

CM Pinarayi Vijayan presented a logo of Coconic in last week. The project will be developed in a Public-Private partnership. This is a joint venture of state-run “Keltron” and UST Global, the laptop manufacturing unit which is operational on the Keltron campus at Manvila Industrial Estate in Thiruvananthapuram. This project will be associated with Acceleron Labs and The KSIDC.

At the lunching Function, Industrial Minister E P Jayarajan reveled the Laptop manufactured by Coconics. On this occasion, CM Vijayan stated, Coconics planned to develop an electronic hardware manufacturing ecosystem. Talking about the project.

CM also added this was a “crucial step in the State’s pivoting to high-tech manufacturing”.

 

According to the official report, the laptop manufacturing unit at Manvila has a capacity to manufacture 2.5 lakh pieces a year, catering to government offices, educational institutions, and commercial establishments.
