On the historic land of Kurukshetra, with “Swachh Shakti”, PM Modi laid the foundation stone of prosperity in Haryana

Kurukshetra, Feb 12: With the message of cleanliness, PM Narendra Modi today inaugurated and laid foundation stones of six development projects in Kurukshetra, he also participated in “Swachh Shakti 2019”, an event to recognize the leadership of rural women in Swachh Bharat Mission towards realizing a clean and open defecation free country.

 

Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay University of Health Sciences in Karnel; ESIC medical college and hospital in Faridabad; National Institute of Ayurveda in Panchkula, Sri Krishna Ayush University in Kurukshetra; Battles of Panipat Museum; National Cancer Institute in Badhsa through video conferencing.

In this visit to Haryana, Modi also addressed the ‘Swachh Shakti 2019’. The event was attended by woman sarpanches and women associated with the 'Swachhta' campaign from across the country. On this occasion, PM Modi also conferred the 'Swachh Shakti 2019' awards’ today.


 

Swachh Shakti-2019 is a national event which aims to bring in to focus the leadership role played by rural women in Swachh Bharat Mission. Women Sarpanches and Panches from all over the country attended the event. The Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation in association with the Govt. of Haryana is organizing the Swachh Shakti-2019.

While addressing the event, Modi said, “Today we have dedicated medical and cultural projects to the public. Jhajjhar's National Cancer Institute, Kurukshetra's Ayush University, Karnal's Health Science University, Panchkula's National Institute of Ayurveda and Faridabad's ESIC medical college and hospital”.

Further, he added, “From Haryana's soil, we had set a huge target. From one rank one pension to beti Bachao beti padhao, we launched all of them from Haryana that spread across the country. The first beneficiary of the Ayushmann Bharat scheme was also a daughter from Haryana”.

He said in the events, All these projects will bring prosperity to the lives of people of Haryana with this, the youth will also get employment through the projects.

While addressing women sarpanch, he stressed, “With Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, the population of girl child has increased. With the Ujjwala Yojana, sisters are now free of smoke. The National Nutrition Mission and Prime Minister's Safe Maternity Campaign has reduced threats to the lives of pregnant women’.

On this event, He also visited the Swachh Sundar Shauchalay exhibition in Kurukshetra and addressed the public gathering.
