Solidifying relations high in the sky; IAF chief Dhanoa meets Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina promising to combat natural disasters

Dhaka, February 13: Underscoring the need for working together in the quest to combat any natural disaster, the air forces of India and Bangladesh have joined hands to fight against all odds. Elected as the Prime Minister for the third time, Sheikh Hasina and Chief of Indian Air Force marshal Birendra Singh Dhanoa met together to strengthen bilateral deals accounting at defence.

 

Paying a visit to PM Sheikh Hasina, IAF Chief Dhanoa and the Prime Minister spoke in length about the various attempts to fight together against natural disaster. Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina said that she hopes the cooperation between the two countries will enhance and the two air forces will work together in case of any natural calamity. Expressing happiness over the growing relations between the two countries, Sheikh Hasina said that it is wonderful that the relations are good and will strengthen in near future.

 

Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina recalled the support given by the Indian government and the armed forces during the liberation war of 1971. IAF Chief Dhanoa also recalled the efforts put in by the Indian armed forces in liberating Bangladesh and returning back home in a short time.

The IAF Chief Dhanoa also stressed on the need of both air forces to unitedly work together as the region is disaster prone, the forces will fight together. He also expressed happiness to the Prime Minister for their noble deed in calling the war veterans to Bangladesh every year. The Chief also said that India is willing to support Bangladesh by building capacity in air force in many areas including training. Moreover, the chief also praised the infrastructure of Bangladesh Air Force as one of the world class.
