"India's self-confidence is at an all time high" : PM Modi's speech elevates Loksabha with a strong imprint of democracy on the nation

New Delhi, Feb 13: For the last Five years, the house which stands together for good of the nation, and fights against the evil of politics, the house who witnessed so many transitions and shifts towards New India, attended its last day and last session. The Five years of 16th Lok Sabha are over today.

PM Narendra Modi's last speech on the last day of 16th Lok Sabha, He started his speech with appreciating the speaker, Sumitra Mahajan, and he said, “I want to appreciate the role of speaker, Sumitra Mahajan ji in conducting the proceedings of the house.”

 

He said, “This tenure witnessed the largest number women with 44 MP. First time in the country, the cabinet has a maximum women minister with defense and External affairs’.

Further, addressing the proceedings of the house, Modi said, “I consider this to be a very positive sign because such confidence gives an impetus to development”. he said Several sessions in this Lok Sabha had good productivity. This is a very good sign”.

 

With 85% outcome in house proceedings, we are saying farewell to Loksabha, he added.

While addressing the development of the nation, PM said, “Today India is a 6th economy in the world, together with the progress towards 5 trillion dollar economy club”.

 

“The maximum number of satellites launched in last 5 years, Now India has become a launch pad for the world”, He said.

He stated, this is the Lok Sabha that has passed stringent laws against corruption and black money, it is this Lok Sabha that passed the GST, the GST process revealed the “spirit of cooperation and bipartisanship”.

He recognized the contribution of foreign policy and said, “This house gave a new dimension to our Foreign policy”.

While speaking about the member of loksabha, Modi used the term, “Micchami Dukkadam”, the term used to seeking forgiveness for any offense committed.

 

The lawmaking process is the most important process for a healthy nation, he said, “219 new bills introduced in this house and 203 bills got passed in the last five years”. He added, this house gave constitutional status to Adhaar, which now widely appreciated by the world.

While addressing the elimination of laws, Modi said, “This house eliminates more than 1400 laws for smooth functioning”, he added, we eradicate the “jungle of Laws”.

With a smile of the face, Modi said, “ We used to hear there will be an earthquake, but there was no earthquake in the last 5 years”.

At the end of his speech, Modi expressed, “I am thankful for each and everyone for the way you helped me in my first tenure in the house, I thank you wholeheartedly”.
