New Delhi, February 15: After the Chinese note on firmly denying the proposal to label the JeM head Azhar a global terrorist, the state councillor and FM Wang Yi officially wrote to the EAM Sushma Swaraj condemning the terrorist attack in Pulwama, where 44 jawans posted in Jammu and Srinagar sector got martyred.

Condemning the Pulwama suicide attack, Wang Yi expressed deep sympathy to families of the victims & injured. He further stressed that the Chinese side resolutely opposes and strongly condemns all forms of terrorism.

Countries from across the globe consoled the attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district with nations like the United States, UK, Russia and France asserting that they stand with India in combating the menace of terrorism. China, however, came up with a lifeless statement keeping its stand on Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar unchanged.

"JeM has been included in the Security Council terrorism sanctions list. China will continue to handle the relevant sanctions issue in a constructive and responsible manner," said spokesman of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Geng Shuang in an apparent reference to External Affairs Ministry's appeal to all members of the UN Security Council to list Azhar as a global terrorist.

India in its MEA statement had appealed the international community hinting specifically China, to support the proposal to list terrorists, including JeM Chief Masood Azhar, as a designated terrorist under the 1267 Sanctions Committee of the UN Security Council and to ban terrorist organisations operating from territories controlled by Pakistan.
