Celebrating glorious 70 years with a Latin American partner, PM Modi holds delegation level talks with Argentina’s President Mauricio Marci

New Delhi, Feb 18: Argentina’s President Mauricio Marci is on a state visit to India from February 17. He is accompanied by First Lady Juliana Awada and delegation comprising speaker of the chamber, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jorge Faurie and governmental secretary and senior officers.

 

India and Argentina traditionally share warm and friendly relation with mutually beneficial partnerships. The bilateral co-operation includes economic, commercial, agriculture, science, technology, culture, and tourism.

 

India and Argentina today signed ten MoUs in several areas including Defense, Tourism and Agriculture.

Argentina’ President Macri’s three dau India visit is taking place in the 70th year of the diplomatic relations between both the countries.

 

In the morning, the visiting dignitary was accorded ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan with inspection of Guard of Honour. President Ram Nath Kovind and PM Narendra Modi warmly welcomed the Argentian President. Modi and Mauri had last met on margins of G20 Summit in December 2018 in Buenos Aires.

 

After the welcome, Mr. Macri and first lady paid respect to Father of nation Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat.

 

After this welcome, the foreign minister of Argentina, Jorge Faurie and India signed the Framework Agreement of the International Solar Alliance. Argentina becomes the 72nd country to sign the Framework Agreement.

 

India and Argentina today signed MoUs, the two leaders reviewed the progress in bilateral ties and explored new areas of co-operation. the agreements were exchanged following the talks between PM Modi and Argentinian President Mauricio Macri at Hyderabad House in New Delhi.

Mr. Macri will also address the Plenary session of India-Argentina Business Forum. He is scheduled to visit Mumbai tomorrow.
