Swadeshi Jagran Manch demands action against Chinese firms

New Delhi, Feb 19: Expressing concern over the growing influence of Chinese social media, e-commerce and other telecom platforms, Swadeshi Jagran Manch has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to initiate action against the Chinese firms.

In an official letter, Ashwini Mahajan, All India Co-convener of Swadeshi Jagran Manch alleged that Chinese firms trying to capture Indian data without any restrictions and monitoring and demanded immediate action against the same.

“Chinese govt continues to block India’s attempts to designate Masood Azhar as 'global terrorist'; government should create similar hurdles for Chinese companies. Data is the new oil. We should not allow Chinese cos to capture Indian data without any restrictions and monitoring ” Mahajan Twitted.

Referring to the horrifying terrorist attack at Pulwama, Swadeshi Jagran Manch urged people to boycott nation or individuals who are directly-indirectly involved in the anti-national activities.


 

Applauding the timely intervention of Finance Ministry for the key decision like withdrawal of Most Favoured Nation as well the increase in customs duties for all products imported from Pakistan, Swadeshi Jagran Manch urged Prime Minister Modi to take firm action against the suspicious activities of the Chinese government.

Citing major policy violation in the telecommunication sector, Mahajan demanded that operations of Chinese telecom companies in India should be curtailed and cases should be registered under relevant charges. According to media reports, in December 2017, Defence Ministry took action against 42 Chinese applications citing security reasons.
