February 21: With all the Indians full of aggression and rage because of the dreadful Pulwama attack and audiences still kindling in the patriotic feelings from ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ and ‘Manikarnika’, another period war drama is all set to hit the box office. Trailer of Akshay Kumar’s ‘Kesari’ dropped on the internet today instantly hitting millions of views and likes.

The trailer of ‘Kesari’, based on the famous Battle of Saragarhi in 1897, was one of the most awaited trailers in the recent times. Proving true to the buzz and excitement the trailer is literally said to be giving Goosebumps to the audiences. The trailer is welcomed with many positive reactions for the actors Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra, its war backdrop, and the stunts and warfare sequences which are unlike any other film.

Akshay Kumar features as Havildar Ishar Singh who participates in the Battle of Saragarhi in which an army of 21 Sikhs fought against 10,000 Afghans in 1897 while yearning for the respect of his estranged daughter. Directed by Anurag Singh, a period war drama, ‘Kesari’ is not a larger than life film just a fictionalised retelling of one of the Bravest Battles ever fought on Indian soil.

After the release of the teaser in three parts earlier this month, the hype for the official was increasing day by day. Akshay Kumar has also been providing with little glimpses to his fans time to time. With his unique way of adding crispness to patriotic dialogues, Akshay Kumar has owned the trailer so far.

Also, lightening the aggressive mood, seems like his fans have come up with number of memes giving it a funny touch. It has not even been a day since the trailer release and twitter has been flooding with hilarious twists to Akshay Kumar’s dialogues in the film.

‘Kesari’ is co-produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Akshay Kumar through Cape of Good Hope and features Parineeti Chopra, Edward Sonnenblick and Bhagyashree along with Akshay Kumar in the lead.

The battle of Saragarhi, known as the Bravest Battle ever fought, has also inspired two other movies, Rajkumar Santoshi’s Battle of Saragarhi, starring Randeep Hooda, and Ajay Devgn’s Sons of Sardars 2.

‘Kesari’ will be released on March 21.
