Wish to see Vinod and Sudhir’s journey ahead? Cult Classic ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’ sequel in the talks, Shah to reprise his role..!

February 22: With a good news to all the retro movie lovers, Fan favourite Naseeruddin Shah will be coming back reprising his famous role of Vinod from Cult Classic ‘Jaane bhi Do Yaaro’. Reportedly, a sequel to Kundan Shah directed 1983 film ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’ is in the pipeline.

Original film was about two photographers, who are employed by a newspaper editor to expose the scandalous activities of the rich, come across corruption by a builder and accidentally photograph a murder. Naseeruddin Shah and Ravi Baswani had played two struggling photographers in the satire on corruption.

 

The film had won number of awards and viewers’ hearts by its comic, yet deep storytelling way. The one of a kind film played great deal in flashing light on the corruption in the times with a unique way. Hence a comedy film still leaving the audience with food for thought is considered as one of the best films in Indian Cinema, till date.

 

“We are doing ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’ sequel. The script is ready. Kundan ji had written it. Naseeruddin Shah is reprising his role. We will have someone else for Raviji's part as he is no longer with us. The actors who are available are Naseeruddin Shah, Neena Gupta, Satish Kaushik and Pankaj Kapur”, a source close to the production reported to PTI.

The original film was produced by National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC) while the sequel will be backed by Firoz Nadiadwala. The film is expected to go on the floor by next year.

 

The original film ended with both Shah and Boswani's characters being framed for the crimes that they had not committed. So probably the sequel will take their journey forward after they come out of the jail.

“The second part will start from where the first part ended. The characters of Vinod and Sudhir have come out of the jail and are old. Pankaj Kapur's character has become a top industrialist while whoever plays Om Puri's character is his competitor”, the source also told PTI.

Watching Vinod and Sudhir’s journey ahead is surely going to be a treat for the fans, so better get ready to binge watch the original film soon!
