Second Shahi Snan underway at Kumbh in Prayagraj

Lucknow, February 4: The Holy bathing of faith and belief at Mauni Amavasya Parv that begun very early this morning at Sangam at Kumbh Mela, Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh continues peacefully.


 

More than three crore devotees are expected to take dip at Sangam, the confluence of Ganga Yamuna and mythical Saraswati and nearby areas at Kumbh today. As of now, about two crores forty lakh devotees have taken holy dip till 11.00 AM. A large number of foreigners are also dropping in to witness the grandeur of the ceremony.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has greeted people on the Pious Parv of Mauni Amavasya today. He has said around 15 crore pilgrims will take holy bath during 49 day long Kumbh Mela festival ending on 4th March.

All security arrangements have been put in place for third and most important bathing festival Mauni Amavasya at ongoing Prayagraj Kumbh Mela. This is second Royal Bathing- Shahi Snan Parv at which saints and seers of different Akharas take holy dip.

Some of the devotees observe Mouna vrath while bathing and continue it day long. The importance of this Parv has increased multifold as this Mauni Amavasya falls on Monday today after several years during Kumbh bathing
