New Delhi, March 15: As the situation remains tensed between India and Pakistan, the security forces in India are all set to overcome any situation. Showing thorough inclination towards national security, the Indian Air Force on Thursday night carried out major readiness exercise over Punjab and Jammu, in which a big number of aircraft participated. During the exercise, IAF jets, including frontline aircraft, flew at supersonic speeds in the border districts including Amritsar.

The main reason for carrying out the combat drill was to be prepared for thwarting any misadventure by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) to intrude into the Indian air space. The IAF has been on a high alert ever since it carried out air strikes on a Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist camp in Balakot town of Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunwa province on February 26.

On February 26, India avenged the Pulwama Terror Attack by carrying out a ‘pre-emptive and non-military’ strike on Pakistan’s soil. The strike is said to have killed nearly 300 terrorists. The following day, Islamabad made a failed an attempt to target military installations in India in which one MiG 21 was lost and an IAF pilot went “missing in action”. However, the pilot was brought back from Pakistan on Friday.
