New Delhi, March 22: Acquitting the accused in Samjhauta Express Blast, India gave a perfect example that it won’t spare the convicts. Despite India pitching on to justice, Pakistan has given no cooperation and help when its neighbouring country give justice during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks or the recent Pulwama Terror Attack. With this, India on Friday rejected Pakistan's attempt to politicise the verdict in the Samjhauta Express blast case.

Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said, "There has been no cooperation from Pakistan. We reject Pakistan's attempt to politicise the matter. It is being done to deflect attention from their failure in bringing perpetrators of several terrorist attacks in India and region to justice." The MEA Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar in a press conference said, "We demand that Pakistan should take immediate, credible and irreversible measures against cross-border terrorism without any discrimination and without resorting to such gimmicks."

His remarks came after Islamabad conveyed "concerns" regarding the acquittal of the four suspects in the 2007 Samjhauta Express blast case to several countries on Wednesday through its Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua.

The Indian High Commissioner Ajay Bisaria was summoned by Acting Foreign Secretary in Islamabad after the Samjhauta verdict was given by the special court in Panchkula, Haryana and a strong protest was lodged by on the acquittal. Pakistan called it travesty of justice & one that "exposes the sham credibility of the Indian Courts."

Stating that Islamabad has no understanding of the Indian judicial process, Raveesh Kumar said, "I think, there is a complete lack of understanding as to how our judiciary functions. In all the cases taken up in the court, a due process is followed, which has also been acknowledged by the international community. The same due course was taken in this case. Now, the court has given a verdict."

He further added that the judgement by special NIA court in Panchkula was 'based on the merit of the case and taking into account all the witnesses and material that was disposal of court, court has given a verdict. We respect the verdict of court.'

India has also said that despite its request to summon the witnesses in Pakistan, no action was taken.
