Maha CM Fadnavis inaugurates 1st Kalyan International Film Festival amidst much Fanfare

Kalyan, December 30 : Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said that the state government will provide its full support and assistance to Kalyan International Film Festival on the lines of other international film festivals being held in the state. Devendra Fadnavis was a chief guest last night at the 1st Kalyan Film Festival here.

CM said that such kind of film festivals provides the much needed platform for today's generation so that they can showcase their talent to the world and produce good and meaningful films.

The main attraction of the fest was that films were screened in tents with the help of traditional projector which brought back the memories of Indian Cinema's golden days.
Thane Guardian Minister Eknath Shinde, Kalyan-Dombivili MC Mayor Kalyani Patil, Bhiwandi MP Kapil Patil, MLA Narendra Pawar, MLA Subhash Bhoir, MLA Ravindra Chavhan, MLA Ganpat Gaikwad, Leader Rupesh Mhatre, Former Minister Jagannath Patil and Municipal Officer Ramnath Sonawne were among the distinguished guests.

Speaking on the occasion, Kalyan city's Energetic and beloved MLA Narendra Pawar said that he had two things in mind while supporting the film festival. One was to bring Kalyan city on national platform as a cultural hub and centre. Another reason was to invite Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to inaugurate the Kalyan Film Festival and take an opportunity to make him aware about the problems of the citizen of Kalyan city.

Chief Minister also promised to take up and solve the issue of Kalyan-Dombivli like Dumping ground, Traffic, Recritment on vacant posts in hospitals and providing pure drinking water to the citizens. CM also said that he will try his best to bring Thane's metro rail upto Kalyan-Bhiwandi. Thane's Guardian minister Eknath Shinde also lauded the organisers of Kalyan International Film Festival and advocated for the need of Film Institute for art and culture loving Kalyan city on the line of Pune's Film Institute.

Veteran actor Ramesh Deo, Seema Deo and Anuradha Podwal were given the Life Time Achievement Awards on the occasion by the Chief Minister whereas Musician Rahul Ranade and Lyricist Sameer Anjaan were also awarded on this occasion.
