North East delegation meets Narendra Modi

New Delhi, February 7: BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Wednesday met a delegation of North East students and professionals in Delhi. The delegation shared the problems faced by them in the national capital.

In the meeting that went on for more than an hour, Modi said that once BJP comes to the power, the focus of the party would be on improving law and order in Delhi and assured them of looking into their problems.

Modi assured youth from North-East that BJP will give importance to improving infrastructure and development of North Eastern states so that they are not forced to leave their states in large numbers to seek employment opportunities outside. He also said that his party is planning to construct hostels especially for them on a big scale across the country.

In order to give people from the North East a sense of security, Narendra Modi promised them to pursue his suggestion of having 200 policemen from each of the North-Eastern states in Gujarat.

Arun Jaitley, who is the leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, was also present at the meeting which was held at Gujarat Bhawan. The youth from North East highlighted the “indecent and inhuman” attitude of police towards them.

Sunil Deodhar, chairman of the BJP’s North East cell has organized the meeting.
