Bhubaneshwar, Jan 29: Describing Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose as the first President of Independent Bharat, senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Indresh Kumar lamented that the young generation was deliberately kept in ignorance about the glorious chapters of our history.

Addressing a gathering of youth at Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir here on the occasion of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary Indresh Kumar said that the government of Independent India set up by Netaji was acknowledged by the governments of Japan, Germany, Russia and other ten countries of the world. This very historical fact makes Netaji the First President of Independent India, Indresh Kumar said. He said that had Netaji been alive the history of independent India would have been different, he added.

He alleged that the inspiring history and legacy of great leaders like Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Veer Savarkar, Swami Vivekananda etc. was deliberately kept away from the young generations. In the coming years we need to work hard to bring this history of revolutionaries to the fore for the benefit of the young India.

Retired Colonel Himanshu Shekhar Mohapatra was the chief guest. Mahanagar Sanghchalak Dr Basant Kumar Pati, and Sah Prant ZSanghchalak of Utkal Samir Kumar Mohanti were prominently present on the occasion. Col. (Retd) Mahapatraa urged the youth to work for the country. During the program family members of martyrs were felicitated.

The youth conference was formally inaugurated by RSS Kshetriya Pracharak Adwait Dutt. In his inaugural address he called upon the youth to inculcate patriotism in their character. With this the country would be able to find solutions to all the problems, he added.

Nearly 1500 plus youths participated in this conference most of whom were college students and youth swayamsevaks from 50-odd shakhas. Indresh Kumar satisfied the queries of the participants. The participants took out a colourful procession with flags and dressed in the attire of the great leaders of the country.
