Chennai, April 24: Sadhanai Sangamam, a conclave of seva vrathis was organized by Seva Bharati in Padmanabhapuram, Kanyakumari District recently.
Addressing the gathering of 5150 seva karyakarthas including 4850 women and 300 men associated with varied service activities, RSS Akhil Bharatiya Seva Pramuk Suhas Rao Hiremath said, “Swayamsevaks serve through Seva Bharati and other organizations in the field of education, health, culture, social harmony, village development etc. Out of a total of 1,52,000 seva projects carried out throughout the country, 10,400 seva projects are based in Tamil Nadu. Through seva we could see a rise in education, culture, economy, self-esteem and morality of socially backward people.”
Swami Vivekananda’s thought of ‘Nar Seva is Narayana Seva’ can be seen practiced through Seva Bharati, he said.
Kanyakumari district has 1940 villages. Out of these 1550 villages are served by 6597 seva karyas. Applauding the seva activities, he further appealed that the seva karya should reach every bnook and corner of the district.
Vellimalai Swami Poojya Saidanyananda gave an appeal to check conversion activities. Balachandran, Moogambigai Medical College, Dakshin Kshetra Seva Pramuk Padmakumar, Sundaralakshmanan, Seva Bharati State President Ramanhathan, BJP State Joint Organizing Secretary Kesava Vinayakam, Senthilkumar, Prant Pracharak, (Dakshin Tamil Nadu), T S Vaikundam, and Kamaraj participated in the function.
