Kochi, April 5: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sahsarkaryawah Dattatreya Hosabale inaugurated a seminar “Ekatmata Manav Darshan- A Vision for Better Tomorrow” here on April 4.
Hosabale said that Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, who conceived this Ekatma Manav Darshan or Integral Humanism, always stood for the common and poor people.
He said that the individual, society and nature have the same spirit in them. When the Jansangh had only 10 MLAs in the 1960s, Deendayal Upadhyaya did not hesitate to rush to Jaipur and dismiss eight of them for voting in favour of a landlord
Former Union HRD Minister Dr. Murali Manohar Joshi spoke on Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s philosophy. Dr. Joshi said that Indian must start thinking in Indian terms and strive to make the country a world leader. “Unless we set our own benchmark, the world is not going to care,” Dr. Joshi said.
He said Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s great contribution to India was that he introduced a new political vocabulary in the country that freed philosophers, scientists and social scientists from the bonds of Western analytical tools. Dr. Joshi noted that key indicators of growth and development of our economy continued to be measured using Western tools. He also called for Indian scientists to publish their works in Indian journals rather than foreign ones.
Bharatheeya Vichara Kendram general secretary Dr. K.C. Sudhir Babu welcomed the gathering. Dr. M. Mohandas presided. Dr. C. I. Issac and Justice K. Padmanabhan Nair were on the dais. Dr. Latha Vinod proposed vote of thanks.
