Siliguri, May 7: It is a strange coincidence that the annual summer training camp of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is being held at the very place from where the dreaded Naxalite movement under the leadership of Charu Mazumdar and Kanu Sanyal had sprung to life during the early seventies.

The RSS training camp being held at that very place is an indication of withering away of violence-based movement that had threatened the common masses and put the security forces on their toes for over three decades in Bengal.

And when RSS Sah-Sarkaryawah V BHagayya had said in his inaugural address at the camp that RSS honours and welcomes all the sections of the society without any discrimination and with pure love, he was only writing the script of the end of the Naxalite movement that believed in the principle of violence, hatred and exploitation in the name of justice.

The mainstream media might have neglected this ‘small event’. But it will definitely have the far reaching consequences in the entire country in near future. It underlines the eternal victory of love and compassion over violence and hatred.

Bhagayya said the Naxalite movement was launched so that the working class, labours and farm workers could lead a respectable life. But that did not happen. Today, we are holding the RSS camp here. The RSS believes in principle of love, brotherhood and welcomes and honors all sections of the society.

He was addressing the inauguration of the annual summer training camp of RSS at the Sarda Vidya Mandir premises at Naxalbari a small town in north Bengal. The swayamsevaks from all over the province of North Bengal are attending the Sangh Shiksha Varg as it is called in RSS parlance.

He said RSS is collectiveness, integrity and brotherhood and belongingness towards fellow citizens. The practical training of these values is imparted in this camp. The participants get a chance to imbibe these values in their behaviour during the camp and even after.

We have a mission to make Bharat strong, vibrant and powerful nation of the world. This is possible only when each one of our citizens become great, healthy, and develop a pure character like Lord Hanuman, Bhagyya said. A strong Bharat is must for peace in the world, he added.

The RSS leader further said that those who live for others live a real, meaningful life. This is the time tested way to elevate a human to divine being. The RSS is engaging itself in this task of igniting the divinity amongst the human beings and the training for this is imparted in the camp.

Chief Guest Shyamal Pal Chowdhury said that he was felling happy in the company of such dedicated volunteers of RSS. He expressed thanks for providing him this chance.

148 RSS volunteers from 106 places of North Bengal are participating in this summer camp. All the volunteers are below the age of 40.

Siliguri Vibhag Sanghchalak, Akhil Bharatiya Sah-Pracharak Pramukh Advait Charan Dutt, Kshetra Pracharak Pramukh Ramapad Pal, Prant Karyawah Pradip Chandra Adhikari, Varg Karyawah Bimalendu Das were prominently present on the occasion.
