Bengaluru, Jan 11: Emphasizing the importance of understanding, cooperation and coordination in a diverse society like India, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Dr Mohanrao Bhagwat on Sunday advised to shun friction and conflict.

Addressing a valedictory function of ‘Swaranjali-2016’ - the four-day Akhil Bharatiya Shrung Ghosh (Brass Band) Shivir held at Reva University, Yelahanka here Dr Bhagwat said that nothing positive will be achieved through friction in a diverse society like ours. We need to imbibe values and learn inclusiveness to accommodate all sections in the society.

The former chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation, K. Radhakrishnan was also present on the occasion.

Pointing to the fact that the uniting factor of our country was its culture, Dr Bhagwat said we must learn to accept and celebrate diversity. All other countries needed uniformity to achieve unity but in our country this was not required. “In our country, one has to become all and all have to become one”, he said.

The RSS Sarsanghchalak said that the Indian values which according to him were “complete and time tested”, can show the way forward for the nation and the world. He said that the concept of sustainable living was a gift of the Indian culture to the world.

Bhagwat called upon people to strengthen Indian values and dedicate one hour a day for the welfare of the country.

He claimed that everyone in India was a Hindu as they were part of the unique culture, irrespective of whether they accept it or not.

“Hindu Samskriti or Bharatiya Samskriti is our identity. Bharat is not just a name of some part or piece of land. The land boundaries keep on changing from time to time. The nature of the society is the Samskriti. This Samskriti binds us all together. Thus this is our identity and that is the reason it’s known as Hindu Rashtra. Not many know and not many believe but it is universally accepted. We all are Hindus as we have accepted the very nature of the Samskriti”, said Bhagwat.

Speaking on the occasion, eminent scientist and former ISRO Chairman Dr K Radhakrishnan said, “Science and Technology should address complex and larger issues of relevance with a focus in purpose. It is significant to ensure convergence and linkages between all players of value chain so that the benefits reach the ultimate end user in the society. Effective management with emerging technologies, worldwide, will require new directions and innovative solutions”.

“Let me conclude with a message to young generation. It is well stated that our human capital especially demographic dividend, holds the key to leap forward or even to leap-frog or to make impossible in to possible. “Knowing” and “Doing” are important. But “Being” what you are makes a difference in life. Our conviction about our life and its purpose and our value system, would help us to perform our duty to this motherland and the humanity as nishkama karma. Each one of us can make a difference for the country and each one of us should strive to leave a legacy when you leave this world” concluded Dr K Radhakrishnan.

Earlier, spectacular Ghosh Pradarshan  was performed by 2169 Shrung Ghosh vadaks from different states of India playing newly introduced tunes.
