Lucknow, October 18: Allahabad High Court in Uttar Pradesh on Monday expressed its displeasure over the unpreparedness of state mechanism to fight dengue hazards which have already claimed many lives in recent months. Also, HC claimed that Akhilesh Yadav government is not spending central funds and is faking statistics on the death toll in the vector borne disease.
As per the officials the state government have an insensitive attitude in handling the epidemic even after being warned time and again over the matter which claimed many innocent lives all over the state but mainly in Lucknow.
The bench of Justice A P Sahi and Justice D K Upadhyay, proposed to constitute a committee of specialists to look into the situation and prepare modalities to execute a plan on ground level to control the spread of the epidemic. The experts committee will also suggest effective treatment of dengue patients.
The bench in its observation said that it is a sorry state of affairs that state government is incapable to even set any protocol for treatment of patients suspected of dengue fever. The court expressed annoyance at the state machinery for not taking necessary actions in order to prevent and check water-borne diseases.
The bench also rapped the principal secretary of medical and health Arun Kumar Sinha for not giving the demanded information as to why the state machinery failed to spend the amount. Also, HC recorded serious dissatisfaction on the affidavits filed by principal secretary medical and health Arun Kumar Sinha, secretary urban development S P Singh, chief medical officer SNS Yadav, Lucknow Municipal Corporation, Lucknow Development Authority and UP Housing Development Board, the bench directed them to file fresh affidavit in compliance of the previous directions detailing information sought earlier.
