Patna, October 19: The colleges in Bihar are facing severe issues as the Bihar government cancelled affiliation of 68 intermediate colleges and 19 other colleges of the state for not fulfilling its criterion. The affiliation was received by the college when Lalkeshwar Prasad Sing, accused in Bihar merit scam, was the chairman of merit scam in state. The accused is in the jail as of now.
BSEB chairman Anand Kishor said that the suspension of affiliation of 19 other institutions was following the violation of norms set by the examination regulatory body. "These 19 institutions will be served show-cause notices and given 15 days' time to reply, after which a final decision on their affiliation will be taken," said Kishor.
Institutions were from Rohtas district, eight in Arwal, six in Buxar, five each in Nawada and Aurangabad, four each in Gopalganj, Muzaffarpur and Saharsa, three each in Patna and Nalanda, two each in Lakhisarai, Khagaria, Samastipur, Jehanabad and Banka and one each in Purnia, Bhagalpur, Jamui, Siwan and Bhabhua districts.
