Tawang, Oct 20: Calling for more transparent and accountable governance for all central sponsored scheme Chief Minister Pema Khandu has urged officials to adopt new IT & Digital technologies.
Embarking on his maiden visit to Tawang after assuming the office of Chief Minister Pema Khandu held a review meeting at Zomkhang hall with top officials of government. On this occasion Health Minister Jomde Kena, PS (RWD) Jambey Tashi and MLA Tawang Tsering Tashi were present.
Addressing the meeting of top bureaucrats khandu announced that, the government is planning to launch a monitoring system to keep track on flagship programmes of central government.
He informed that, the monitoring system will be implemented with coordination from all respective deputy commissioners. It will be facilitated through video conferencing and a system dashboard to be introduced in the CM office. He further added that, this technological intervention would enable the Chief Minister’s office to keep track and monitor of all the ongoing schemes.
Expressing concern over the crunch of resources in the state he said that, the state has to gain the confidence of the Centre with better coordination. He also requested officials to act as a link between the Government and the public. Advocating the new style of functioning he asked officials to get rid of stereotype work culture and advised them to think out of the box
He directed all stake holders to be aware and informed about all the flagship programmes of the government so as to ensure proper implementation of the same. He announced that, the performance of government officials would be closely monitored and appropriate assessment will be done according to the performance.
Taking the stock of recent political developments in the state he said “Enough time has been lost due to political instability in the state.” He appealed office bearers and public representatives to be on the toes for speedy delivery.
Khandu also presented a broad picture of the developmental activities being undertaken in the State under his leadership. He also apprised the officers of the keen interest taken by the Union Government, particularly the Prime Minister of India for development of the State by the Union Government.
