Bhagyanagar (Hyderabad), Oct 25: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Tuesday appealed to the Muslim community to seriously think over the controversial issue of ‘triple talaq’.
Addressing reporters here RSS Sarkaryawah Suresh alias Bhayyaji Joshi said that the Muslim women who have approached the court seeking abolition of triple talaq would get justice. However, he clarified that the RSS would like the Muslim community to rethink seriously on the issue and make necessary amends.
“The triple talaq issue is an internal problem of Muslims and in this context, the Muslim community should seriously think on it. In the present era, there should not be any kind of gender-based discrimination. On talaq issue, women have gone to court and we expect they get justice properly,” Joshi told said.
The RSS leader further said that the Muslim community should also think and decide on it. The RSS felt that the need to look at this matter from a human perspective and the court should give its views considering the same, Joshi said on the concluding day of the three-day Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal (ABKM) of RSS.
Replying to a question on the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) the RSS Sarkaryawah said that they are against any discrimination in personal life. The law should be such to end such discrimination without disturbing the social fabric, he said.
“The Law Commission has sought the public opinion on the UCC and then it should consider the views of the people and take them into consideration when the commission finalizes its opinion”, he said.
In response to a query on surgical strikes, Joshi sarcastically complimented people for being experts in politicizing any issue. He said that the government had to take a decision and it took and the Army executed that decision.
“We need to appreciate the present (NDA) government for taking a decision for surgical strikes and at the same time, the surgical strikes were conducted on Army's might. Hence, the army and the government, both are commendable for the surgical strikes,” the RSS leader said.
Commenting on his organization’s stand on allowing Pakistani artists to perform in Indian films, Bhayyaji Joshi said that all should think on this matter with openness and honesty. “Iske sandarbh me sabi ko udarta aur pramanikta se sochana chahiye”, he said.
If the Pakistani artists say that they don’t want to work in Indian movies then why India is so eager on welcoming them, he asked, adding, “Do we have the scarcity of artists in India?”.
He said making movies with only Indian artistes is a welcome step.”Moreover, why we should be dependent on others. I think this dependency has to get over.”
Reacting to another query, on call for the boycott of Chinese goods on social media, Joshi said, “Our stand has been that we should buy only Indian goods. Why only Chinese? When the alternatives (of products) are available. But, there are certain products for which alternatives are not there and we don’t say.”
“We have been saying that not only Chinese products but people should purchase natural products made in India and that stand continues,” Joshi added.
