Mumbai, October 7: Opener batsman Shikhar Dhawan and bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar have been replaced in the upcoming third Test against New Zealand. The both were ruled out of the next match due to injury. Batsman Karun Nair and medium pacer Shardul Thakur will replace the both for the Indore Test.
Dhawan has sustained a minor fracture on his left hand which has made him to lose the presence in the next Test. On the other hand, Kumar has been ruled out after he sustained a back strain during the second Test at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
The lead was announced by the all-India senior selection committee. This Indore test is the last test of the series between the host India and New Zealand. The Test is very crucial for gaining the top rank in the ICC Test teams.
India has defeated New Zealand in the last two matches and has been leading the series by 2-0. The series has seen spectacular spin attack from R. Ashwin and R. Jadeja. Also, Shami have performed superbly in the 2nd Test at Kolkata. India seeks to replace Pakistan from top Tests ranking along with the start of the last Test against New Zealand.
