New Delhi, Oct 7: Taking strong exception to Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi’s statement “Jawanon ke khun ki dalali”, BJP President Amit Shah Friday lashed out the mean mindset of the Gandhi scion and his party.

“Rahul’s statement crossed all limits and exposed Congress mindset”, Amit Shah said addressing press conference at BJP office today.

Thanking the media for projecting truth behind the surgical strikes and even quoting the eyewitnesses across the LoC and exposing Pakistan on the issue of strikes, Amit Shah condemned the statement of Rahul Gandhi accusing the Prime Minister of ‘hiding behind the sacrifices and blood of the jawans’.

Rahul Gandhi, on Thursday, launched a frontal attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleging that the PM was using the strikes for the political benefit of the party. AAP leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal too had demanded ‘proofs’ of the surgical strikes across the LoC.

In addition, various Congress party leaders like P Chidambaram, Sanjay Nirupam, Digvijay Singh and Kapil Sibal, also alleged the politicisation of the strikes by the BJP to reap benefits in the ensuing UP assembly elections.

BJP President Amit Shah today began his press conference by slamming all the political parties for politicising the surgical strikes. Shah deplored the politics over the army action saying that some parties tried to question the army action and some raised doubts.

“This is an insult of our army. I condemn all those who insulted our Indian Armed forces. Those who want proof of the strikes should analyse the events in Pakistan after the strikes were conducted. They will learn the truth”, he said.

Shah took strong objection to the ‘dalali’ word used by Rahul Gandhi and asked the intent behind the use of this word. His words not only insulted the Indian Army but also doubted their efforts to save the country, he alleged. Rahul’s words are the insult to our brave soldiers and 125 crore Indians.

What ‘dalali’ Rahul is talking about, Shah wanted to know. He added that as a matter of fact, the word ‘dalali’ was more associated with the Congress party, and wanted Congress President Sonia Gandhi to explain her party’s stand on Rahul’s words.

Attacking the Congress party for associating itself with the frustration and disappointment of Pakistan the BJP President wondered why the Congress party and other opposition leaders did not feel proud at the success of the Indian Armed Forces at the Surgical strikes.

He also blamed Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal for his statement on surgical strike. “Yesterday Arvind Kejriwal was trending because of Pakistan support, you know who is benefitting”, Shah said.

Stating that the BJP never used this issue for its political benefits, like other parties but not ruled out to take the truth to the people. “We do not want to politicise the surgical strikes, but, maybe at the local level, some of our enthused party workers have said something with a patriotic zeal that gripped the nation after the strikes.

Taking political advantage of this action is not right, but we will go to the people and tell them about the success of the Army. The BJP Government was very careful from the first day about politicising the strikes. We condemn any party questioning these strikes or seeking their proofs”, he said.
