New Delhi, November 13: In order to calm people amid the demonetization and rising fear amongst people about insufficiency of new currency notes, the Reserve Bank of India has reassured public saying that enough cash is available with Reserve Bank and other banks so people need not make repeated visit to their banks to hoard currency notes.
The official statement by Alpana Killawala, Principal Advisor, RBI says, “Enough cash in small denominations is also available at the Reserve Bank and banks. The Reserve Bank urges that public need not be anxious; need not come over to banks repeatedly to draw and hoard; Cash is available when they need it.”Embeded ObjectThis action came after Bank branches witnessed unparalleled rush of people wanting to exchange, draw and hoard new currency notes. Also, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged people to bear hardships and support him for 50 days until demonetization drive to fight corruption ends.

Since the banks are likely to be closed on Monday on account of Guru Nanak Jayanti, people are getting paranoid and rushing to the banks making banks struggle to meet the currency demands by public.
