New Delhi, November 16: After the six time consecutive increase in the prices of petrol and diesel Government make reliefs to the people by cutting down the prices. On Tuesday, the price of petrol was cut down by Rs 1.46 paise per litre and the price of was diesel cut down by Rs 1.53 paise per litre.
The new petrol and diesel prices came in the effective from the midnight of Tuesday. According to new prices, the new cost of petrol in Delhi is Rs 65.93 paise per litre and new cost of diesel in Delhi is Rs 54.71 paise per litre.
In the six hikes, petrol price had gone up by Rs 7.53 per litre in just over two months while the three price increases totalled Rs 3.90 a litre for diesel. "The current level of international product prices of petrol and diesel and rupee-US dollar exchange rate warrants decrease in selling price of petrol and diesel, the impact of which is being passed on to consumers with this price revision," IOC said in a statement.
Interestingly, Petrol price was last hiked by 89 paise per litre, excluding state levies on 1 November. Diesel rate on that day was raised by 86 paise a litre, excluding state levies.
