New Delhi, November 25: On the occasion of Constitution Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday released two books- ‘New Version of Constitution of India’ and ‘Making of Constitution’ at a function in New Delhi. Addressing the gathering PM said that Republic day is incomplete without 26 November and Baba Saheb Ambedkar and Constitution are inseparable.
Speaking on the occasion, PM praised the makers of the constitution saying that we remember Dr. Ambedkar whenever we remember the Constitution. Ambedkar did a lot for the people of the nation. B.R. Ambedkar and Constitution are inseparable. PM Modi also emphasized that we should be practically involved with the Constitution, PM said that our Constitution has a very special place in our lives. We should connect to the constitution with our spirit.
PM Modi enlightened the importance of 26th November in the history of Indian struggle for Independence. “We celebrate 26th January with great enthusiasm but we must also remember- without 26th November, we could not celebrate 26th January. 26th November was decided to be observed as Constitution Day to celebrate the Constitution and have greater awareness among the youth”. Modi said.
“It is important to be connected with the spirit of the Constitution, not only be aware of the various articles of the Constitution. Over the years people have forgotten their duties under the Constitution but only remember their rights. There should be balance between rights and duties. A few clever one's even misuse their rights under the Constitution, He further said.
While supporting the government’s decision of demonetization policy, PM Modi said that common citizen of India has become a soldier against corruption and black money. “Those criticising demonetisation move don't have problem with government's preparedness besides they have problem that they didn't get time to prepare”. He said.
PM laid emphasis that India should move towards cashless economy and said, World is changing, money is not just available physically; we must move towards cashless economy. “Every person has a right to spend his or her money. No one can take anyone's money. Now people can spend through mobile technology also”, he said.
